Get started with SOLO.

Set up, step by step.

Do this once before your first brew. When you're ready, the matching brew guide takes over with a live, guided timer.

1. Boil the kettle Heat 240g of brew water to 93°C, plus a little extra to rinse the filter and warm the brewer.
2. Weigh 16g of coffee and grind it Use a medium-coarse grind as your starting point.
3. Place your server on the scale Choose a server that comfortably holds the full brew.
4. Place the SOLO on your server Check that the dripper sits level and secure.
5. Set the paper filter inside the brewer Keep the filter pleats open and evenly spaced around the brewer.
6. Rinse the filter and warm the brewer Pour gently so the filter keeps its shape.
7. Discard the rinse water Keep the dripper steady as you empty the server, then set it aside briefly.
8. Reserve 80g for the final pour Tare the small heatproof pitcher, add 80g of the 93°C water and let it cool toward 85°C.
9. Add the coffee and level the bed Return the brewer to the scale, then gently shake it until the coffee sits flat.
10. Turn on the scale and tare it to 0g Make sure your scale is set to grams before you begin.
11. You’re all set! Press "Done" to start. Aim to finish between 2:10 and 2:20. If it drains sooner, grind a little finer next time. If it runs later, grind a little coarser.
