What you need.

  • Hoop paper filter
  • Wide cup or low-handle server
  • Kitchen scale
  • Coffee grinder
  • Kettle

Set up, step by step.

Do this once before your first brew. When you're ready, the matching brew guide takes over with a live, guided timer.

  1. Boil the kettle Bring the water to a boil. You will need 225g after rinsing the filter.
  2. Weigh 15g of coffee and grind it Use a medium grind, similar to your usual V60 setting.
  3. Place the filter in the Outer Loop Lay the round paper flat over the opening without folds.
  4. Secure the Flow Tower Screw the centre tower into the Outer Loop so it holds the filter evenly.
  5. Place the Hoop on your server Use a wide server with a low handle so the 6.9cm base is fully supported.
  6. Wet the filter and discard the water Rinse the paper, warm the server and return everything to the scale.
  7. Add the coffee to the Flow Tower Gently shake the Hoop so the coffee bed sits flat.
  8. Turn on the scale and tare it to 0g Make sure your scale is set to grams before you begin.
  9. You’re all set! Press "Done" to start the timer. Fill the Outer Loop once, do not stir and aim to finish near 4:30. If it finishes early, grind finer next time. If it runs late, grind coarser.
